How to measure the effectiveness of social recruiting in Clinch Talent

Calculating ROI in social recruiting is an important function for any talent acquisition team. Clinch Talent gives you the tools to do just that.

The platform’s robust analytics feature delivers data on which social networks are delivering the most candidates to your recruiting content, how many of those candidates are converting into applicants – even how many of those candidates, per each social network, have gone on to be successful.  

To measure the effectiveness of your social recruiting efforts at a campaign level and/or at an individual landing page level, please follow the steps below.

How to view data for all traffic from social

In the top navigation or left menu, go to Reports, then click on the Traffic tab.

1. Filter your results by date range.

2. If you wish to view results for candidate in a particular region, fill out the Candidate Location field to filter your results for candidates in a particular region.

3. Traffic source: Choose between ‘First visit’ and ‘Each visit’ bearing in mind the following:

  • First visit looks at the source of the candidate’s first visit only.
  • Each visit looks at the source of the candidate’s first visit AND all subsequent visits. Note that here, individual candidates will be counted multiple times.

4. Traffic filter: Choose ‘Social Networks’ from the dropdown.

5. The table below will now update to show:

The number of candidates who originated from each social network

OR

The number of candidates who have ever visited each social network

AND have done the following:

  • Viewed content in the campaign specified in Step 1.
  • Started an application
  • Completed an application
  • Become a successful candidate*

To view the data for one specific web campaign, make your selection from the Web Campaign dropdown.  

How to view data at an individual page level

In the top navigation or left menu, go to Reports, then click on the Pages tab.

1. Filter your results by date range, then select ‘Page Type: Landing Page’ from the dropdown.

2. Scroll to the Page Breakdown table and click on the relevant page hyperlink.

3. Ensure that the date range for results filtering is correct and set ‘Traffic Source” and ‘Traffic Filter’ as above, i.e. ‘First’ vs ‘Each’ visit and ‘Social Networks.’

4. Scroll down to the ‘Social Networks’ table to view:

The number of candidates who originated from each social network

OR

The number of candidates who have ever visited each social network

AND have done the following:

  • Viewed content in the campaign specified in Step 1.
  • Started an application
  • Completed an application
  • Become a successful candidate*
