A Designer's Guide to Clinch Talent

The Clinch Talent Page Editor allows you to create, edit, and display your recruitment marketing content the way you want to.

Powerful and easy-to-use, the editor tool lets you build, customize, and publish fully-responsive multimedia-friendly landing pages for use in attracting, engaging, and converting candidates.

Columns and Rows

For greater flexibility in terms of layout, your landing page content is presented in individual blocks contained in rows.

Click on the "+" button to add a new row, and from the drop-down (below screenshot), select the number of columns you wish that row to have.

Note that when a layout with two columns is selected, these columns can vary in width. In a row with two columns, one may occupy one third of the row’s total width, with the other taking up two thirds, as seen in the example below.

In rows with more than two columns, the column widths are equal, as illustrated below in this example of the “Add Row with 3 Columns (1⁄3 : 1⁄3 : 1⁄3)” layout option.

For the full range of rows and columns layout options available in Clinch Talent, please see the wireframes below.

Content Blocks

With rows and columns in place, you can fill out that framework with a variety of content.

A column can contain one or more content blocks. A content block can be comprised of text, an image (as seen in the examples above), a video, a job description, or any one of the number of content block types we highlight in this document.

In the example below, which uses the “Add Row with 2 Columns and multiple blocks” option with the ⅔ : ⅓ width ratio, you will see a mix of text and images content blocks. You’ll find more information further down on the types of content you can add to columns.

The rows and columns format is ideal for creating grids — a popular layout for many clients.

You might choose to include a 3 x 3 image grid, for example, that links to additional landing pages with information on specific departments, as seen below.

At present, a grid can be comprised of up to six columns including any of the content block types listed below.

N.B. Clinch does not offer any set dimensions for images as they will display differently on different devices. However, please be advised that header Images are best to be kept at around 1500px x 600px. For all images, the image focal point should be in the centre to allow for cropping when that image is resized for smaller screens.

To add a headshot of the team member quoted and the quote itself, click the "edit block" pencil icon in the top left corner. Add the URL for your YouTube video. If you wish to select a particular image to feature in place of the default video still, you can do so via the “Choose Image” option. Then, check the “Use image for video poster” box below, and hit SAVE.

N.B. If your video is not currently on YouTube, please be aware that Clinch Talent can host videos. All you’ll need to do is upload the video file as a zip to the hosted files section in the company’s theme.

In addition to YouTube videos, Clinch supports the mp4 file format.

14. Blog post body/list

Clinch Talent now has a blogging engine built into it. This means that you can now easily create, publish, and manage career-related blogs in the same place that you manage your career site and landing pages. The blog engine also leverages the Clinch Talent templating feature to ensure that your individual posts display with a look and feel that’s consistent and on-brand with your other careers content.

Select “Blog post body” or “Blog post list” from the dropdown, depending on whether you wish to add a single blog post in its entirety, or a list of several posts, as seen below.

Padding and Margins

You can avail of the “Padding and Margins” tools to increase or decrease space between rows and around content blocks. To edit the padding and/or margins on your page, click on the “Edit row” pencil icon in the top right corner of the row and make your selections from the appropriate dropdowns.

Inside the dialog box, you will also find options to edit the background and foreground colours of the row, and edit the CSS.
