How to grow your talent network using the Clinch Talent Chatbot

With a talent network at your fingertips that’s engaged, informed, and open to hearing about the latest opportunities with your organization, finding great candidates to fill your open roles becomes faster and easier.

The Clinch Talent chatbot takes the work out of growing your talent network by leveraging automation and AI. Following a quick, 2-step setup, the chatbot runs on designated pages on your career site, inviting visitors to join the talent network, and collecting key information that is then used to create or update their candidate profile, such as name, email, etc. 

Getting Started

1. Create your chatbot welcome message

In the left menu, click on Settings > Company.

On the Company Settings page, click Chatbot in the right hand menu to be automatically directed to the relevant section.

Clinch Support will assign your  Chatbot Name and Alias as part of your team’s on-boarding process. The 'Enable welcome message' box should be checked by default, with default message text in the field below. Please feel free to edit this text to meet your brand requirements. This message will then appear as a new message in web based chatbots when a candidate visits the page(s) on which the chatbot is activated.

N.B. The Join Talent Network Chatbot Intent is enabled by default. If you wish to disable this intent, simply click on the edit icon (pencil) in the Actions column. On the Chatbot Intent screen that follows, uncheck the 'Enabled' box and hit SAVE.

Once you have finished updating your Chatbot settings, hit SAVE at the bottom of the Company Settings page.

2. Activate Chatbot on a per-page basis

The Clinch Talent Chatbot is managed at an individual page level. Please note: Chatbot is NOT active on any page/web campaign by default. 

To activate chatbot for a specific page, your career site homepage, for example, go to Web Pages in the left or top menu, and click into the relevant campaign to view the page. (You can also use the search bar to find the page in question.)

Once inside the campaign, click on the action button inline with the relevant page and hit 'Settings.'

N.B. If you have navigated directly to the page itself, 'Settings' can be found in the top right corner of the editor view.

When the 'Settings' modal appears, click on the 'Appearance & Behaviour' tab and check the 'Chatbot active' tab. Save your selection to activate Chatbot for this specific page.

Your talent network chatbot will now appear to any candidate(s) visiting this particular page on your Clinch Talent-powered career site. It is visible in the bottom right corner, with new chatbot messages indicated by the red number icon.


You can change the color of the Chatbot at any time by going to Settings > Themes in the left menu. 

Click into the relevant theme, i.e. that which is in use for the pages that feature the Chatbot and select the 'Colors' tab on the theme screen that follows. 

At the bottom of this screen, you will see 'Chatbot Colours.' Use the drop-downs to manage the primary colour and text colour of your Chatbot. When you've made your selections, hit SAVE to preserve your changes and make them live.
